Moon

Description

Besides the Sun, the Moon is the most prominent object in the Earth’s sky. This planetary mass-object without significant atmosphere or magnetic field is our only natural satellite. It’s surface, marked by craters, basins, and lunar maria, tell tales of violent impact and volcanic activity.  

The fifth largest satellite in the solar system is a beacon in our night sky, a force of nature giving shape to the seasons and highly influencing how we understand and organize time. It has been our silent companion, guiding explorers and dreamers.  

The Moon has expanded our knowledge of the cosmos and our place in it and holds the promise of deep-space travelling. This way it might become our gate into the wider universe.
